How the data is acquired

Acquisition is configured by the MachineWise engineering team for the control in front of it. The failure that costs the most time on FANUC-heavy floors is duplicate addressing. A plant with fifteen machining centres frequently has several that were commissioned with the same default address years apart, and nothing reveals it until two are on the network simultaneously. Assign from a written list and keep it with the machine records.

Which FANUC controls can be monitored?
We work routinely with 0i-MD and 0i-MF, 18i and 21i, and the 30i/31i/32i/35i families. What a specific machine exposes depends on its generation and the options fitted, and is confirmed on your machines during the pilot.
How is the data acquired from a FANUC control?
Acquisition is configured by the MachineWise engineering team for the control in front of it. Integration is read-only — no parameter is modified, nothing is installed on the control, and no program is written.
Does monitoring affect the machine or its warranty?
No. Nothing is written to the control and no setting is changed. Where an OEM service contract has specific clauses, we are happy to review them with your team before connecting.
Does the machine need to stop for connection?
Generally not for a networked control. What is usually needed is an address on the plant network and a cable to a switch the monitoring server can reach.
What if two FANUC machines have the same IP address?
This is the most common problem on FANUC-heavy floors, because machines commissioned years apart often share a default. Assign addresses from a written list held with the machine records, and test each with a ping before commissioning.
Will it tell us why a machine stopped?
No control reports a reason. The stop and its duration are captured automatically; the reason comes from the operator in two taps at the machine.
